Wheel Works of Art
Creative thinking is on a roll, in the new DCM Interact With Art Gallery exhibit on the upper level! Children love wheels. Bikes, cars and favorite toys have wheels. Wheels give us the power to go fast, move big heavy things and ride to places far, far away. In Wheel Works of Art children can connect with the creative side of familiar wheels. Then, ready to build on that knowledge, discover fantastic moving machines created by some of today’s cutting edge kinetic artists. Wheels make machines work, but it takes a lot of creativity to know how to make a gear turn enough other parts to make a clock run or a CD player play. Come "get your wheels turning" as you explore the use of wheels and how they can be used in art. Appropriate for ages up to 10 years. Free to DCM members and free with general admission, presented locally by Continental Acura - Audi of Naperville.

Morton Arboretum Presents David Rogers' Big Bugs
You’ll be smitten, but not bitten. David Rogers’ Big Bugs, an exhibition of 12 gargantuan bug sculptures, is designed to delight kids of all ages and help them learn about and discover backyard bugs. The effect is a role reversal of dimension and perception where the bugs tower above us all, instead of vice versa, according to Rogers. These 12 sculptures are built mainly of trees, dried branches, tree roots, and green saplings. The huge bugs – one is 25-feet long – amaze visitors, spurring youngsters to learn more about the world we share with bugs, and how they help trees. Price is free with admission to the Morton Arboretum. All Ages, Visitor Center area. Now through July 20: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. or sunset, whichever is earlier

Buffalo Theatre Ensemble presents Stones in His Pockets by Marie Jones, directed by Bryan Burke. Olivier Award winner for Best Comedy, Stones in His Pockets is essentially two actors’ tour-de-force of 13 characters. A West End hit, which has now become a regional sensation, it is the story of a Hollywood film being shot in rural Ireland.
