Picture DuPage - A Photo Contest

Starting in September, the Bureau is launching a photo contest called Picture DuPage through our Flickr™ site. Residents and visitors may submit images of their favorite DuPage locations -- shopping, dining and entertainment venues, festivals, sporting events, places to relax or play, etc. -- that can be used in promotional materials. While the contest is not open to DuPage CVB employees, members, partners or their immediate families, you are encouraged to spread the word to friends, other family members and amateur photography enthusiasts.

New Meeting Planners Guide Unveiled

DuPage CVB has completed the new DuPage Meeting Planners Guide, which is being distributed as an insert in Midwest Meetings magazine’s September 2009 issue to over 28,000 meeting planners. An additional 5,000 standalone guides will be given to meeting planners considering DuPage throughout the coming year. The guide is a definitive source for information about DuPage County’s meeting and event venues with its comprehensive Facilities-at-a-Glance section. All members will be receiving a copy in the coming weeks.

Sales Team Spotlight

DuPage was the proud host of the RFN ConFam held at the Doubletree Hotel Oak Brook back in mid-June. There were 38 planners present representing 22 military reunion organizations. From this event, DuPage CVB has thus far generated six leads worth 2,165 total room nights for 2010 and 2011.

Upcoming DuPage CVB Tradeshow Representation:

  • Sports Illinois Huddle, September 1-4, Lincolnshire. Note: Twenty sports rights holders are registered to attend this first ever Sports Illinois tradeshow and educational conference, allowing CVBs the opportunity to showcase their areas and meet one-on-one with planners.
  • HSMAI's Affordable Meetings National, September 9-10, Washington, DC.
