Atwater’s at the Herrington Inn and Spa is pleased to announce the arrival of Executive Chef Jason Tsoris who will oversee both the Atwater’s dining room and banquet kitchens at The Herrington. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and having worked side by side with culinary icons such as Charlie Trotter, Tsoris brings more than 30 years of high-end culinary management experience to Atwater’s.
In 2010, the Village of Willowbrook will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its incorporation. A Birthday Bash will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010 and will feature tours of the Village Hall, children’s entertainment, music and birthday cake.

December 2: D.O.C. Wine Bar is holding an informal wine tasting, “The Southern Charm,” from 7-9 pm. Taste southern wines from all over the World: Campania, Mendoza, Chile, Stellenbosch, New Zealand Australia and more. Event fee is $20 and includes all wines being tasted and an assortment of appetizers.
December 5: Village of Lombard’s 4th Annual Jingle Bell Jubilee at Lombard Town Centre. Come out for the Downtown Lombard Express Scavenger Hunt, Winter Wonderland Window Displays, free cocoa and cookies, carolers & elves, Village Holiday Tree Lighting and Santa’s Arrival, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides and more! All activities are free.
December 5 & 6: Cantigny Park is hosting the 8th Annual Holiday LEGO Train Show from 9 am to 4 pm in the Visitors Center. Admission is free; parking at Cantigny is $5 per vehicle. Visitors to the show are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys for the Marine Toys for Tots drop boxes inside the Cantigny Visitors Center. Those bringing a toy will receive free parking.
December 6: "The Legend of St. Nicholas" will be performed at Naper Settlement’s Century Memorial Chapel. Hear stories of the protector of children through the ages, and learn about the origins of St. Nicholas in various countries, popular Christmas symbols and worldwide Christmas traditions. This interactive program is meant for all ages. Call 630-420-6010 for tickets.
December 12 & 19: Hotel Arista at CityGate Centre is offering Breakfast with Santa. For information and reservations, call 630-579-4100.
Through January 3, 2010: Jeweled Objects of Desire at Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art. This special exhibit features objects from the gem collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. The exhibit is supported in part by the City of Elmhurst Community Grant Program and The Illinois Arts Council.
